Message from Tami Carlson, GTA President;
As, the end of the 2011-12 school year approaches, the weather gets hotter, the students antsy, and testing, testing, testing. Already tired, teachers are faced with more than ever to do but with the end in sight, will make it to June 15 with patience and grace. You do so every year as you are the utmost professionals. Let the count downs begin and when we are finally down to one, get the rest and respite you so deserve. GTA will be here, working on issues left from this year and new ones for next year as they arise. When we all meet again in August, we will start immediately to protect our collective bargaining rights by working to defeat the corporate money grab initiative and to pass the Governor’s tax increase initiative to fund public schools. Our hard work and unity is what will protect us from the fate of Wisconsin, Idaho, Tennessee and others. We will prevail because we must prevail. Thank you for all you do for our community’s children.
