PLEASE CALL 866-331-7233  and tell Congress a new federal education bill must mean more opportunity and learning for students!

Both the House and Senate are now fully underway in the most serious effort to rewrite the law since the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)/so-called No Child Left Behind passage in 2002. This means the time for each and every one of us to act and shape the outcome is now.

This reauthorization of ESEA is an opportunity to set a new vision of shared responsibility for a public education system that promotes opportunity, equity and excellence for all students. A system where students and teachers can focus on learning over testing.

We know, first-hand, that No Child Left Behind has made no significant progress in closing achievement and opportunity gaps for students. Instead, it has perpetuated a system that delivers unequal opportunities and uneven quality to America’s children making it impossible for educators to do what is most important: instill a love of learning in their students.

It’s up to us to make sure Congress gets it right this time.

PLEASE CALL 866-331-7233 and urge your colleagues, friends and family to call as well. Tell Congress to pass a new ESEA bill that provides more opportunity for all students!

Let Congress know that CTA members, along with the millions of educators around the country, are not going to stop until we have a new ESEA bill signed into law that promotes opportunity, equity, and excellence for all students.
